As far as this agent is concerned, you did two important things for this Forum: you found this story and posted it, but also girded it about with caveats.

Look at the gist of it. Levy discovers Condit's impending bolt the the Republicans, they fight, she leaves, he calls some top Republican who sends a team to her apartment, they abduct her and plant software, planning to discredit her, but out of fear of discovery an agent kills her.

There. One run-on sentence tells you all. Why is it so long, then?

Because the devil is in the details. And the details in this story answer just about any question anyone could possibly ask about how it went down. We even get an explanation for a scratch near Condit's scalpline. Hmmm....

Details lend credibility to writing, be it fact or fiction. But in this story, frankly, there are just too many for me. The choroform reminds me of Dennis Hopper in "Blue Velvet". They probably have a web-surfing, self-erasing program, but it didn't need to be announced to the world, they could have said her pc was doctored to throw off investigators--i.e, covered it with a generality, but they didn't 'cause they want us to believe this was NSA, right?

Finally, at the climax of this slick, hi-tech operation by trained agents, the guy does her in with a tire iron in an alley.

"Oh, that? We NSA agents were mostly recruited from the Boy Scouts. We always carry a tire iron in case the software, the chloroform, or the Tempest Surveillance System develop glitches." Be prepared indeed!
