RON PAUL BUILDING HIS LEAD AND JOHN McCAIN LAGGING BADLY IN POLLING
With 5485 votes, the C-SPAN poll on the Republicans' debate is apparently a two-man race with Ron Paul leading now by 73 % and Mitt Romney trailing at 8 % --
AND BOTH GIULIANI AND McCAIN LANGUISHING IN SINGLE DIGITS !!
The more in-depth polling questions over at MSNBC ( shudder ), show Ron Paul with a thinner margin for his overall lead and with Mitt Romney showing well on the questions which indicate positive approval.
Rudy Giuliani wins the category of "Who avoided the questions ?"
John McCain, Mitt Romney and Rudy Guiliani were the leaders in the category of "Who had the most rehearsed answers ?"
With nearly fifty-five thousand votes in each category on the MSNBC polling, Ron Paul has now tripled the approval rating for John McCain, with thirty-five percent for "Who was the most convincing candidate ?" U.S. Senator McCain, the 2000 Republican candidate who got torpedoed by the Bush/Rove machine in South Carolina, has notched a mere ten percent in that category.
Given that McCain is one of the most visible and most-often quoted of American political leaders, while Paul is the "Dr. No" of the U.S. House of Representativs, this is extremely bad news for McCain.
On the subject of leadership qualities, it was Ron Paul and Mitt Romney, both of them substantially ahead of Rudy Giuliani !!
Former Governor Tommy Thompson and Senator Sam Brownback, along with Jim Gilmore, sagged badly in the leadership polling question.
All of this is extremely bad news for U.S. Senator John McCain.
